Store audit
Shopify Revenue Leak Audit: The Complete Checklist
A revenue leak audit finds money your store is losing but not tracking. Unlike a generic SEO audit, a revenue audit focuses on conversion, abandonment, and recovery gaps — the places where traffic you've already paid for fails to become revenue.
Revenue leak audit checklist
Work through each category and note estimated monthly impact:
- Abandoned carts: Is recovery automated? What's the estimated monthly loss?
- Checkout abandonment: Mobile checkout tested? Guest checkout enabled?
- Shipping surprise: Are costs shown before checkout?
- Trust signals: Reviews, returns policy, security badges at checkout?
- Recovery coverage: 3-email sequence live?
- Monitoring: Daily scans or only quarterly manual checks?
- Post-purchase: Upsell and repeat purchase flows active?
Prioritize by dollar impact, not ease of fix
Merchants often fix easy things first (button colors) while ignoring expensive leaks (no cart recovery). Rank each leak by estimated monthly cost. Fix or automate the top 3 before touching anything else.
RevWatch's free audit does this ranking automatically — every leak gets a dollar estimate so you know where to start.
How often to run a revenue audit
Run a full audit quarterly at minimum. Enable daily automated monitoring if your store does $50K+/month — site changes, new apps, and checkout updates can introduce new leaks overnight.
